About SANTACO Western Gauteng Region

Representing 17 taxi associations across the Western Gauteng corridor, we are the unified voice for local operators, commuters and communities.

Who We Are

The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) is the representative body of the minibus taxi industry in South Africa. Established to unite, regulate, and advance the interests of taxi operators and commuters, SANTACO plays a pivotal role in shaping transportation policy and ensuring the sustainability of the industry.

The Southern & Western Gauteng Region (SWGR) is one of SANTACO's key regional structures, serving operators and communities across a vast area of Gauteng. Through effective leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to transformation, SWGR drives progress at a grassroots level.

“Together, we are transforming the taxi industry. We are united in purpose, driven by progress, and committed to building a stronger future for our operators, commuters, and communities into a vibrant economy & sustainable community.”
